Enbridge's latest project announcements point to a larger infrastructure story: energy demand growth is occurring across multiple sectors, and pipeline, storage, and power assets are expanding to support it.
The map powered by Energy DataLink shows how these projects align with major demand corridors across North America. Rather than focusing on a single asset, the map highlights four projects tied to growing LNG exports, utility demand, crude oil transportation, and data center power requirements.
On the Gulf Coast, Enbridge is advancing the Tres Palacios storage expansion in Matagorda County, Texas, adding 25 Bcf of natural gas storage capacity to support LNG exports and regional demand growth. Further north, the Vector Pipeline expansion will add 400 MMcf/d of westbound natural gas capacity between Joliet, Illinois, and Dawn, Ontario, with additional customer interest ranging from 300 to 500 MMcf/d.
The map also highlights Mainline Optimization Phase 2, which is expected to support approximately 250 kbpd of additional crude oil egress capacity through enhancements along Enbridge's Mainline corridor. In West Texas, the 300 MW Cone Wind Project will supply power for Meta data center operations under a long-term agreement, illustrating how digital infrastructure is becoming another driver of energy investment.
Together, these projects show how infrastructure investment is increasingly following demand growth across energy, industrial, export, utility, and technology markets.
Why it matters
● LNG exports continue driving demand for natural gas storage and transportation infrastructure.
● Utility customers are seeking additional natural gas capacity across established market corridors.
● Crude oil transportation systems remain critical for moving production to downstream markets.
● Data center growth is creating new demand for power generation infrastructure.
● The map shows how multiple energy demand trends are shaping infrastructure investment decisions.
