Introduction Pursuant to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commissions (Commission) Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Revised Statement of Policy concerning revising rules to restrict public availability of Critical Energy Infrastructure Information (CEII), issued September 5, 2002 (NOPR)in this docket , MidAmerican Energy Company (MidAmerican) submits these comments. MidAmerican is an electric and natural gas utility serving bundled regulated retail customers in the states of Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota and Nebraska, and competitive retail customers in Illinois and Ohio. MidAmerican is actively engaged in marketing wholesale electric power throughout other regions of the United States. MidAmerican is an Iowa corporation and maintains its corporate headquarters at 666 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50303. MidAmerican is subject to the jurisdiction of the Commission. MidAmericans provision of bundled electric service is regulated by the Iowa Utilities Board, the Illinois Commerce Commission and the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission.
