Room 1A Washington, DC 20426 Re: Docket No. PF04-3-000(Vlsta del Sol) Docket No. PF04-9-000(Ingleslde Energy Center) The Arensas-Corpus Chdstt Pilots would like to address the impact that LNG ship traffic would have on the Port of Corpus Christi Ship Channel and the Port Aransas ferry schedule. Other ports on the Gulf Coast only move the Aframax Tankers (100K - 125K DWT) during daylight. This causes longer delays and traffic backup. In Corpus Chdsti, tankers under 130,000 DWT are not restricted to daylight only, which minimizes any delays caused by the proposed LNG traffic. Also, the short distance from the "AP" Buoy to the entrance of the La Qulnta Channel results in a transit time of approximately 1 1/2 hours which will also minimize delays. Because of existing military traffic, the Pilots are accustomed to working with vessels using safe~ zones thus eliminating procedure impacts connected thereto. The Aransas-Corpus Christi Pilots feel that we can continue to perform our duties in a safe and expeditious manner with minimal traffic impacts. Sincerely, "~aptaln J.R.
